It addresses topics of current
interest in the Society.

The R&LHS Newsletter was first published in 1981. It was continued under various editors as a quarterly since. The current editor is David C. Lester ( E-mail ) who welcomes comments and suggestions. Further contact information: 215 Bent Oak Lane, Woodstock, GA 30189 Phone: 770-516-1087
The objectives for the current Newsletter as follows:
1. Have the newsletter serve as a strong vehicle to strengthen communication between the officers & board to the membership about the mission, goals and activities of the Society;
2. Allow the newsletter to serve as a forum for news from the eight chapters;
3. Have a feature article in each issue that focuses on a topic that would not conflict with the editorial mission of Railroad History, but be of interest to the entire membership, and one that most members might like to retain in their files. Examples could include profiles of the major railroad museums around the country, such as CSRM, B&O, etc; Society officer profiles, a feature on archival preservation techniques. There are many topics that I believe would be of interest. I could prepare the features on a routine basis, but would welcome contributions as well.
4. Have the newsletter continue to provide a forum for the normal "utilitarian" newsletter features, such as annual meeting announcements and Trading Post.
