at Carolina Rails 2007, the annual meeting of the Railway & Locomotive
Historical Society. This event will be
held in Salisbury, North Carolina from June 7 through June 10. Planned highlights of the gathering include
a rare-mileage excursion on part of the original Norfolk Southern Railway
(today’s Aberdeen, Carolina & Western Railway), special events at the North
Carolina Transportation Museum at Spencer, North Carolina, and guest speaker
Jim McClellan (retired Norfolk Southern Corporation executive) at the annual
banquet.
Hotel Information
The Holiday
Inn at Salisbury, North Carolina has reserved a block of rooms for R&LHS
members until May 10, 2007 at a
special rate of $69.99 (plus tax) per room (double or king) per night. To secure this special rate, please

Reservations

Conditions:
I. The Southeast Chapter, R&LHS makes every
effort to accommodate the physically challenged; however, the AC&W
passenger equipment, as historic railroad cars, are NOT wheelchair
accessible. Train boarding may occur in
locations with unstable footing unsuitable for the physically challenged. Please contact the reservations agent for
further information regarding your specific needs.
2. No refund of purchased tickets after
April 30, 2007, other than by operator's cancellation of the trip or reselling
of the space. The operator suggests
that passengers independently obtain trip insurance to cover cancellations
resulting from personal emergencies, illness or other causes.
3. Reservations are not transferable
and may not be resold without the written consent of the operator.
4. Package does not include gratuities,
personal incidental charges except as described above.
5. Schedule of train and bus departures
and arrivals subject to change without notice by Operators. Operators reserve
the right to substitute equipment.
6. Passengers with special dietary
needs must notify the reservations agent in writing at least two weeks prior to
the event.
7. A $35 fee will be assessed for
checks returned for insufficient funds.
8. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required
for the tour of NS Linwood Yard – NO
EXCEPTIONS.
9. All visitors to NS Linwood Yard and riders
of the AC&W special train must sign an indemnity release form (to be
provided during Meeting registration).
